We're Kyle & Dayna
For us, 2024 was a year of loss. Our sister-in-law passed away suddenly at the age of 36, leaving behind Dayna’s brother and his two young girls, and Kyle’s father, having suffered from an aneurysm with short-term memory loss decades ago, passed away and left behind a lot of unknowns. These tragedies reshaped our perspective of life overnight and reminded us to truly live everyday as if it’s our last.
One thing these tragedies taught is that death planning (which should really be called life documenting) is so important. And we’re not just talking about having a will, even though that’s really important too. It’s about leaving behind the pieces of your life that others might need to pick up – how you make your mortgage payments, what insurance policies exist, where you have bank accounts, passwords needed to close accounts and monitor for fraud, the pin or pattern to your cell phone, you name it. When you’re gone, the people who love you the most are the ones left figuring it all out.
As we navigated death we found ourselves saying over and over, “if only there was a breadcrumb trail. Just little blips of knowledge to guide us on where to look or how to access.”
We spent the rest of 2024 designing a program that allows us to keep others from dealing with death’s scavenger hunt. A way to securely store all the breadcrumbs – digitally – for your loved ones.
